Launched in August 2024, the CMN Trust housing initiative 'A Home of Your Own' is dedicated to granting 50 homes to underprivileged families over a five-year period. With compassion at its core, the project aims to address pressing societal challenges by offering meaningful assistance to those in need.

 

As of now, 20 houses have been completed and handed over, providing permanent shelter and renewed hope to 13 deserving families. In addition to that, 14 more MOUs have been signed, and construction work is progressing in full swing.

Terms & Conditions

Chandramma Madhavan Nair Trust popularly known as CMN Trust has decided to extend a financial aid for homeless and needy persons to construct their homes.

1.  The maximum amount of the aid is decided as Rs. 6 Lakhs (Rupees Six Lakhs only) for each beneficiary.

2.  The number of beneficiaries for each year will be decided by the Trust, from time to time.

3.  The criteria to extend the aid is as follows:

  • The beneficiary should own some land ideal for a house construction.

  • The beneficiary should not have more than 15 cents of land.

  • Individuals or couples who are senior citizens and who do not have their own house will be given preference.

  • Families who are suffering from ailments and do not have house of their own shall be given preference.

  • Aged persons and families above 60 years of age shall also be given preference.

5.  The Trust will appoint a representative to identify and recommend the beneficiaries, but the final acceptance of the same entirely rests with the Chairman of the Trust. The beneficiary do not have any right to question the decision of the Trust or to raise out objections to the decisions of the Board.

6.  The amount will be given to the beneficiaries at every phase in accordance to the progress of the house construction.

7.  The beneficiaries will have to provide the Trust with the following documents:-

  • Passport size photo and family photo of the Applicant.

  • Copy of the Aadhar Card

  • Copy of Ration Card

  • Copy of Bank Pass Book

  • Attested copy of the title deed of the land. (Original of the same to be shown to the representative of the Trust, which will be returned immediately after perusal. If the title deed is used for mortgage, proof is to be provided regarding the said transaction and its present status).

  • Possession Certificate from Village office in respect of the land where house is to be constructed.

  • An affidavit, attested by a Notary Public swearing that the beneficiary does not have more than 15 cents of land.

  • An agreement on stamp paper with the Trust to the effect that the beneficiary is liable to reimburse the Trust the full amount of the aid if it is found that the he/she has more than 15 cents of land or has furnished any wrong information on the above.

  • Basic tax receipt for the land.

  • Encumbrance Certificate in respect of the land for the last 13 years.

  • A letter from the local councilor/ward member confirming the details of the applicant

8.All decisions regarding the aid and its ramifications will rest with the Trust.

9.  The beneficiary is liable to allow the representative of the Trust to inspect the progress of the construction from time to time.
